Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE)
42 states have adopted mandatory or minimum continuing legal education (MCLE) rules and regulations that require attorneys to take courses and satisfy a defined number of credit hours per year or reporting cycle in order to maintain their license to practice law.

The following states do not have an MCLE requirement:
Connecticut, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nebraska, New Jersey, and South Dakota.
CLE Post has compiled the following state-by-state guides charting the comparison between state rules, providing a quick, convenient overview for anyone wishing to acquire CLE accreditation for their course or program.
