The American Bar Association (ABA) issued their 2009 top 100 law blogs also known as blawgs. I’m unclear as to the exact methodology used to choose these deserving sites, but I have my own for choosing 22 Tweets, not the least of which, is that it’s purpose, it’s very existence, serves to showcase and promote others.
I came up with the following criteria:
1. Must have a Twitter presence. In today’s web 2.0 world, I suggest that a micro-blogging tool such as Twitter is a natural and necessary extension of a blog. This narrowed the field to 76
2. I must be more than peripherally familiar with the blog or Twitter stream. This effectively halved the participants to 37
3. Twitter must be used as a communication tool and not a soapbox. So, if you have 1000+ followers and follow under 100 or the first two pages (40 tweets) of your Twitter stream is void of conversation, you’re out. Communication leads to a better awareness and understanding of what’s current and relevant and needed, assuring a more useful and vibrant law blog

A Super Six emerged:
China Law Blog authored by @DanHarris
The Client Revolution authored by @jayshep
Solo Practice University authored by @SCartierLiebel
Above and Beyond KM authored by @VMaryAbraham
3 Geeks and a Law Blog authored by @glambert, @gnawledge and @lihsa
22 Tweets authored by lancegodard (@22twts)
I could write a post on the merits of each but this is about 22 Tweets rising from this very impressive group to be my choice for the top law blog.
22 Tweets shines in all three categories. But it goes one step further, literally turning the idea of Twitter supporting a blog on it’s head. It’s Twitter interviews is the engine that drives the blog. Innovative!
As if to confirm the trailblazing efforts of 22 Tweets, Martindale Hubbel Connect is also now producing their own Twitter interviews. Go, Lance!
That’s Lance Godard, the man behind 22 Tweets. A true Twitter gentleman, he consistently engages, offering insight, and always with a kind word of encouragement. His Twitter stream is thoughtful and gracious. Lance is passionate about 22 Tweets and social media and is a cog in the machine that is grinding out meaningful change in the legal profession.
I voted here for 22 Tweets. You can too
